Frequency & Programming FAQ
Frequency & programming
Radios are built with different frequencies (UHF/VHF) to accommodate the airwaves. If you are not connecting your radio to a set of radios or radio equipment that you previously operate on, it usually doesn’t matter which frequency you get (except maybe surrounding obstructions).
See the difference between UHF vs VHF.
Every new radio has default programming, a generic frequency that the manufacturer assigns to the radio. If your new radio or radios purchased through us need to work with your current equipment, we need to know the frequencies that you are operating on along with any
privacy codes (TPL or DPO).
• We also do advanced programming, just ask us.
